M-I-C... K-E-Y, Allegory

The strange odyssey of Farfur, the loveable gun-totin', Koran quotin', Disney copyright violatin' Hamas television character came to an abrupt end this week when he was beaten to death by an Israeli soldier. And I cannot believe that is not a joke! Hamas affiliated Al-Aqsa TV (picture FoxNews only if it was run by right leaning religious zealots who are completely slanted in their political and social views) aired the final episode of Tomorrow's Pioneers, which featured, unbelievably, an Israeli officer beating the oversized mouse to death after arguing over a piece of land. Shalom!

Farfur's death drew criticism from all over the world, most notably from tv critic Tom Shales, who called his death "derivative, predictable yet hilarious". President Bush had no comment, because, according to a spokesman, he "only watches Warner Brothers cartoons." Israeli Primer Minister Ehud Ohlmert defended Israel by reiterating the government's commitment to only killing nonfictional suicide bombers.

Farfur's death was debated among the show's creators for some time, and before settling on the beating, narrowed it down to 3 other choices for the show's finale

- Stoned to death by zealots after seen on date with Minnie Mouse
- Wacked in gangland style shooting in New Jersey diner
- Becomes mascot of Ramadi Rockthrowers of the Muslim baseball league
